· Know the key moves at your level
· Fast Track your dancing to the next step
· Be more relaxed and confident with dancing on your own
· Have that ‘authentic style’ you need as a Lindy Hopper!
2. Trisha’s’ Black Bottom Stomp
A dance phenomenon of the 1900s different from its rival dance the Charleston. It’s made up of stomps, crouching of the torso, hip twists. This educates students on the context of which the Lindy Hop was created.
A rare opportunity to learn a dance style that proceeded the Swing era.
Energetic, Fun and fast paced routine to learn
Benjamin Cook is an Australian Lindy Hopper now based in London. Swing dancing since 2006, Benjamin rose quickly through Melbourne's dance troupes, but hadn't experienced formal dance training prior to discovering the amazing world of Lindy Hop. While developing his personal relaxed style there were mistakes, bumps, bruises and revelations - all the while seeking to understand how all the elements add together to create this awesome dance. Benjamin's ability to break movement and complex ideas down into bite-sized chunks stems from this personal journey, and now he helps others to realise their lindy goals through clear content and simple ideas. His teaching is focused on making the basics feel amazing, and to use body movement and soft relaxed frame to create smooth connection between partners.
Benjamin runs two weekly classes in London, takes a troupe of aspiring lindy hoppers, has taught in 11 different countries, and is a two-time UK Lindy Hop champion. When he’s not on the dance floor Benjamin is a hi-fi geek from way back, a recent Charlie the Unicorn fan, and has an unhealthy obsession with hot cross buns.
